First Lady Fashion

It's finally here. The Inaugural Celebration has arrived as the first African-American President, President-Elect Barak Obama will be sworn in as our 44th President of the United States. How befitting that today is the celebration of Martin Luther King's Birthday. Two milestones at once. How wonderful.

And unless you've been in a box or on another planet, you know that all eyes are on the incoming first lady, Michelle Obama. Many designers are vying for the opportunity to design her gown for the Inaugural Ball and Essence.com has seen fit to give us a first hand look at the beautiful sketches for these designs.

I have a few favorites. If you want to see the rest of the designs for the incoming First Family, go to essence.com for the latest in Presidential Pageantry.

Ciao and enjoy.
